Occupational Health Nurse – Case Management
Permanent Full-Time:

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

This is a non-clinical position. Under general supervision, the Occupational Health Nurse/Case Manager has responsibility for the delivery of case management and wellness services to the employees of CHR clients. Case management includes pre-employment physical assessment, surveillance programs, periodic examinations, fitness-for-duty determinations, return-to-work evaluations, and others as related to NON-worker’s compensation occupational health and wellness.

SCOPE: 

Knowledge areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Department of Transportation Examination Compliance
  • Hearing Conservation Program Compliance
  • Respiratory Medical Compliance
  • Controlled Substance Testing
  • Drug and Alcohol Program
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Medical Provider Management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or graduate of an accredited school.
  • Fully unencumbered registered nursing license required in the state of Maryland, or a compact nursing license eligible for transfer to the state of Maryland.
  • COHN-S, CAOHC, and/or case management certification desired.
  • Proficiency with computer software programs (including MS Office) and common office equipment is required.
  • Must be able to multitask, be flexible, and maintain organization while being exceptionally attentive to detail.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong focus on delivering excellence in customer service.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience and current evidence-based clinical knowledge
  • Occupational Health experience
  • Case Management experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs duties in a safe manner.  Follows the corporate safety policy.
  • Proactively develops a successful understanding of client standard operating procedures, protocols and culture.
  • Provides telephonic case management patient care to injured and well employees.
  • Implements and follows up on requests for further evaluations or other examinee requirements.
  • Collaborates with other departments and functionalities to ensure deliverables are met and quality is assured.
  • Masters the various software programs specific to the functioning of the office.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

  • Participates and supports safety meetings, training and goals.
  • Travels to Client Meetings and Conferences as required.

Scheduling Coordinator:

Strong customer service skills, detailed oriented, multi-task abilities to coordinate physical exams for clients nationwide. Must be familiar with exam components and medical criteria levels. Two years computer and medical experience required.

Medical Records Coordinator:

Coordinator must have strong attention to detail to review records for completeness: data entry and clerical support. Must have 2 years minimum in medical field with strong computer experience.
